  - This hotel is particularly recommended for its location 300m from Exit 29 on the A31 motorway (Luxemburg - Nancy - Dijon) ; a clean and quiet modern Logis hotel, convenient for a stopover on this north-south route. Two restaurants.
• Nancy (54 - Meurthe et Moselle) - centre
  Hotel des Prélats *** - The building is  a 400 year-old former bishop's palace, and it's been a hotel for 100 years - though modernised since then, and is comfortable and quiet! Very well located in the historic centre of Nancy, close to the Place Stanislas. Generally good reviews, though parking in the area is metered.
• Saint Dié des Vosges (88 Vosges)
  €  The Hotel Beau Séjour *** is a small family-run hotel with 10 rooms, close to the centre of Saint Dié des Vosges. Very reasonably priced hotel with ten rooms and restaurant, located within easy distance of the Vosges regional park. Free private parking and wifi.

• Besançon, (25 - Doubs) .
  €€€ Hotel le Sauvage   The Hotel le Sauvage is a small  *** boutique hotel a former convent in a quiet street close to the Cathedral, the Roman triumphal arch and the  Citadelle, a UNESCO world heritage site.. Though in short walking distance from the Grande rue - the high street - you feel in the country or in a village.

  The Auberge du Tuyé, ***, 9 rooms, occupies a former and traditional Jura farmhouse in the village of Luisans near Morteau, between Besançon and Neuchâtel. Friendly staff, comfortable rooms, restaurant with local specialities. Sauna, hammam, ski-storage area. 10 miles from the Swiss border. A "tuyé" is the vast chimney characterising old Jura farms, still used to this day for smoking hams and sausages.
